GTA02 – Ayutthaya Temples and Summer Palace – Group Tour

Group Tour Itinerary –

06:15-07:00 Pick up from your hotel in Bangkok and travel to the meeting point at Khaosan Road in Bangkok.

07:15 Depart from the meeting point at Khaosan Road and travel to Ayutthaya Ancient City.

09:15 Visit Wat Yai Chaimongkhon which was built by king U-Thong in 1357 for meditation.and visit Wat Mahathat the famous sand-stone Ayutthaya-style head of the Buddha image in a tree’s root.Visit the ancient palace and Wat Phra Si Sanphet which was the Thai capital for 417 years and then visit Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit which is one of the largest bronze Buddha’s in Thailand.

12:30 Lunch at local Thai restaurant.

13:30 Wat Lokaya Sutha which is famous for the image of reclining Buddha. and then travel to visit Wat Phu Khao Thong which is located just outside the city of Ayutthaya.

14:30 Visit the Bang Pa In Summer Palace which has history dating back to the 17th century according to a chronicles of Ayutthaya. Today the Summer Palace at Bang Pa In is used occasionally for receptions and banquets.

15:00 Depart from Ayutthaya to return to Bangkok.

17:00-17:30 Arrive back in Bangkok at Khaosan Road or Sam Yot MRT train station (upon request).

Remark : The itinerary order is subject to change depending on traffic and/or weather conditions.

Summer Palace Dress code – Pdf

  • Both men and women should wear clothing that covers their shoulders and legs.
  • Sleeveless shirts, tank tops or vests are not acceptable. It is a good idea to wear shirts or blouses with sleeves that cover the shoulders completely.
  • Skirts should be at least knee-length or longer. Shorts are not allowed, regardless of the length.
  • Torn jeans are not allowed. Even though jeans are allowed, they should not have any rips or tears.
  • No tight-fitting pants or leggings. While trousers and pants are allowed, they should not be too tight or resemble leggings.
  • It is advisable to wear closed shoes but if you wear sandals then they should have a strap around the heel. Flip-flops are not appropriate. It is also worth noting that you will have to remove your shoes when entering some buildings and it might be convenient to wear shoes that are easy to take off and put on.
  • Avoid clothes that are see-through.

If you are not located in any of our pickup areas you will need to make your own way to one of the following meeting points –

  • Khaosan Road – In front of Chana Songkhram Police Station at the end of Khaosan Road opposite Wat Chana Songkram
